From start to finish you can expect the actual donation process to take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Donated platelets primarily go to cancer patients. During cancer treatment, cancer patients see a significant decrease in their platelet count. Every time you donate platelets, you help save the life of a cancer patient who needs platelets during their battle with cancer.

To welcome you to the Gold Club program, you will receive an exclusive Gold Club tote bag and gold-plated coffee mug, a gold bar foam squeeze to use while you donate, and a Gold Club Punch Card complete with a list of all the rewards you can earn

9th Donation = Exclusive Gold Club Water Bottle

12 Donation = $50 Gift Card

15th Donation = Gold Club T-Shirt or Polo

18th Donation = $75 Gift Card

21st Donation = Gold Club Hoodie or Jacket

24th Donation = $150 Gift Card

In most cases, physical rewards will be given at your next donation appointment (i.e, you just successfully donated to get your 6th donation reward, you will receive your reward at your 7th donation appointment).

For digital rewards such as gift cards, it can take up to 7 days for you to receive your digital gift card via email. 

While all blood types are encouraged to donate platelets, A, B, and AB blood types are the most needed by local patients in Kern County.

If you lose or misplace your Gold Club Rewards Punch Card, please let a Houchin staff member know. We can easily replace your card for you at your next donation appointment

Once you have completed your 3rd successful platelet donation, you will qualify for a pair of movie tickets. These digital movie tickets will be through Fandango and emailed to the email address you have on file. These movie tickets do not expire and must be claimed through the Fandango website or mobile app.
