The finally numbers are being tabulated to determine the winners of this year’s high school challenge. Students, families, friends, and school staff members can still help their school win the 2011-2012 High School Blood Drive Challenge by donating in the name of their school through May 1, 2012 at the blood bank or any public mobile. The winners of this year’s competition will be announced at the invitation only High School Luncheon on May 18, 2012. The names of the winning schools will be posted in this space after that. The theme for this year’s luncheon is The Power of One. Each student who donated a pint of blood this year can be assured the power of their donation was felt by up to three patients in need of what only they could provide.
Details of the summer program kicking off the 2012-2013 High School Blood Drive Challenge will also be announced at the luncheon. A special summer kick-off is being planned for Thursday, June 21, 2012. Make sure your e-mail address with us is correct for direct to your inbox news, or keep up with the enhanced summer program through Facebook or Twitter. High school blood drive reports have been very popular on our social media streams and will continue through the summer months.
Seniors in schools participating in the Red Cord Program should already have signed up for the program and donated three times by May 1 to qualify for their cord.
