WHAT IS COVID-19 CONVALESCENT PLASMA?

Convalescent plasma is the liquid portion of your blood that is collected from recovered COVID-19 patients. COVID-19 patients develop antibodies that help fight against the virus, which can be found in their plasma.

This form of treatment is being used to help critically ill patients that are currently suffering from COVID-19.

family and young man donation blood

We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all of our donors and team members.

Here's where it starts…

COVID_Cleaning-Plus-Disinfecting

Team members are instructed to disinfect screening rooms, equipment and donor beds between each donor. Frequent cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted in high-touch areas, such as phones, keyboards, touch screens, etc.

COVID_Handwashing

Workers are instructed to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water frequently throughout the day. Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer dispensers are located where handwashing stations are not readily available.

COVID_Social-Distancing

Social distancing has been implemented by marking on the floors at registration, limiting the number of donor beds in use, offering workers an isolated work area if requested.

COVID_Respiratory-Etiquette

People are instructed to cover their cough or sneeze and to sanitize their hands immediately afterward

COVID_Proper-Mask-Etiquette

Employees are to properly wear masks when on the donor floor or when in contact with donors/visitors. For donors, we are currently following CDC requirements for mask guidelines.
