Houchin Heartbeats Luncheon

Houchin Heartbeats Luncheon

Each year, Houchin Community Blood Bank partners with more than 20 high schools across Kern County to host life-saving blood drives. These high school drives account for nearly 20% of our annual blood supply, making students an essential force behind the lives saved in our community.

At every participating school, a select group of students is chosen to serve as Houchin Heartbeats Ambassadors. These student leaders champion their campus blood drive, raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donations, and inspire their peers to take action. Through their energy, creativity, and commitment, they help ensure local patients receive the blood they depend on.

To celebrate their dedication, we host the annual Houchin Heartbeats Luncheon. This special event brings together each school and its ambassadors for an afternoon of recognition and appreciation. Every student ambassador receives a certificate honoring their achievement, and each school is recognized for the collective impact of their efforts and the lives saved through their blood drive.

The Houchin Heartbeats Luncheon is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that leadership has no age requirement and that young people in Kern County are making a real, measurable difference in the lives of others
