The new Bolthouse Donor Center in the Seven Oaks Business Park won the Building Material and Design Award from Kern Green at an awards banquet at AERA Energy on Thursday, August 22, 2013. The award recognizes “a business, organization or non-profit that uses sustainable building materials and design techniques in their facility”. The two electric vehicle charging stations and underground irrigation system at the Bolthouse facility were among the notable features recognized by Kern Green. The building was designed to obtain PG&E rebates under the “Savings by Design Program”, and incorporates LEAN manufacturing principles.
The award was sponsored by Granite Construction, and presented by John Van Lenten, Area Manager, along with Sasha Windes, Founder of Kern Green. Greg Gallion, President and CEO, accepted the award. ” What a great honor it was for the entire team of achitects, contractors, landscape architects, and the Houchin staff to be recognized for all that has been achieved at the new donor center.”
