Cholesterol Testing Changes
In the past Houchin has offered free cholesterol testing in conjunction with your blood donation. We have discontinued this free service for a few reasons listed below.
- With advancements in cholesterol testing technology, the free test that was given as a part of your donation is no longer the highest quality test offered.
- Truly accurate cholesterol tests must be done in a fasted state. Donating in a fasted state goes against our guidelines for a safe and pleasant donating experience.
- We encourage anyone concerned about their cholesterol to seek advice and testing from their primary care physician.
